In August of 2011, yes, the hottest month of the year, David directed a trip for us to Key West and the Dry Tortugas. David and I got our old room with the balcony view, and the Dentons and James’ came over for drinks at the end of each day (they stayed at another location). David made it a point to steal artificial sweetener for me, and we ate artichoke dip on bread for breakfast.
Highlights of the trip: a walking tour of Key West architecture, a tour of Truman’s house, and a trip by boat to the Dry Tortugas.
